Created on site, not on paper, the design of our beloved golf course evolved from the land itself. Their hands-on and minimal-impact approach pays tribute to the Golf Links’ majestic partner: nature.
Each hole of the Isabela, Puerto Rico golf course provides a unique test. In fact, Royal Isabela is not limited to one signature moment. Mother Nature has provided them continuously from start to finish.
Mirilla
From an elevated tee, the generous landing area is in the valley below, with a reachable lake on the left. The route then becomes tight and all uphill to a shallow green & occasionally reachable in two. Trouble is everywhere to the left of the green.
Escarlatina
Short and simple, but narrow, demanding a tee shot between the fairway bunkers. The green is surrounded by shallow, grassy dunes, guarded by sod-faced bunkers on the left that can be punishing.
Abre Quebrada
Playing downhill through a valley, bending slightly to the right, the green is hidden but reachable from the tee. The wide landing area tapers to an extended fairway, actually passing the raised green on the right side.
Lagrima
Playing across a deep swale to a two-tier green, the false front falls off sharply downhill into a shaved collection area. The double tiered green climbs uphill to the back, with bunkering on both sides guarding the higher level.
Sumidero
Playing downhill into a valley, a lone palm tree stands on the center of the split-level landing area. The elevated, three-tier green rises front to back, with bunkering left and a canyon on the right and rear.
Yogi Berra
This one-of-a-kind design starts uphill, over water and sharing the same tee and landing area "The Fork" and then turns right to the par 4 and left to the par 5, each with its own fairway and green. The par 4 plays slightly uphill to the green complex, which includes two penalizing sod-faced bunkers center and left. The par 5 presents an option to reach the green in two by crossing over a penalizing waste area, or play safe, up the left side, setting up a short shot to the three-tier green.
Quejas
A slight dog-leg left, the fairway opens on the right, with trees lining the corner. The landing area is crossed about 265 yards out by a meandering "Scottish" burn. The large green nests amid grassy dunes, protected by three bunkers.
Santuario
From the tee, the lake on right is reachable, while there is OB on the entire left side, tee to green. The green is guarded by the Charca del Diablo (Devil's Pond) along the front right. The large sloping green falls away from the water, right to left.
Charca del Diablo
Both enchanting and intimidating, the island green is a straightaway carry from the tee. Surrounded by water, the wide green sits atop weathered stonework. A front pot bunker can be a safe target, or a looming problem.

Guaraguao
A carry over a natural lake, the undulating green is open and very narrow but very deep (65 yards), fronted by a smooth, fairway-length entrance that makes the target look even more receptive. Side and rear catch bunkers allow for recoveries.
Taino
Playing across the sheer edge of the cliffs, high above a rocky cove, it's a breathtaking carry to the landing. The "elbow" double-green (shared with No. 14) leans on the cliff, with bunkers front, left and back.
Palmas
Traversing a preserved grove of Coconut Palms and native dunes, the landing areas are generous. Reachable in two, the scenic cliffside green is open in front, wrapped around by bunkering and a dunes area.
Perla Oculta
At the edge of the cliffs, the tee plays diagonally to the fairway, into the wind, left to right, against the ocean. Undulating fairway dunes lead to the "elbow" green (shared with No. 12), with bunkering on both sides.
Palo Seco
A wide fairway slides through sandy lowland dunes, with a tree line buffering the lake that curls all along on the left side. Bunkering both right and left complicates access to the undulating green.
Punta Ballena
Continuing along the cliffs, the fairway is not a severe challenge to find, with tee shots best kept to the left of the distinctive set of pines. The small green is low in front, guarded by four shallow bunkers.
Palo de Pollo
Separated by a deep gorge, the tee and green nose out along facing cliffs, presenting another breathtaking, ocean-view challenge. The two-tier green is roomy, with a grassy bailout area provided on the right side. Wind is always a factor.
Ruinas
Closing tee shot best aimed to tall-lone-palm tree on the horizon. Enjoy panoramic views of ocean-cliffs and sandy-beach as you ascend from tee to green. The route to a two-tier green is lined with remnants of a house and rock-wall, wind-swept-native-oak trees, pot bunkers, a "dry creek" and grassy dunes.
